Les arcades is conveniently situated just ½ mile from fayence village center, ¼ mile from the internationally renowned gliding club of fayence. The house is 831 feet above sea level so although the temperature can be hot in the height of summer due to its altitude a cooler evening usually gives a pleasant night sleep. Fayence itself is the largest of the 6-hilltop villages comprising the pays de fayence. Seillans, tourrettes, callian, montauroux and mons are all within easy reach – further afield are the equally picturesque villages of bargemon, clavier, callas, st paul-en-foret and bagnols-en-foret. The sea is about ½ hour away which allows quick visits to the beaches between cannes and st raphael and, at the end of your day, you can return to fayence leaving the crowds behind. Nice, cannes, st tropez, monaco and aix-en provence, are all within easy reach for a day trip. The grand canyon de verdon is europe’s answer to the grand canyon in america, although it is a round trip of some 130 miles the views and villages mean you’ll want to spend a day doing this. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance, larger super markets within 5 miles for those who want to stock up on some provencal groceries before they leave.

Lac st cassien is 15 minutes away where you can enjoy horse riding, fishing, boating or the new adventure course (this is fully supervised and involves using safety equipment, and ends with a “tarzan” rope swing straight into the lake!) of course there are plenty paths for walkers and cyclists to enjoy at there own pace. There is gliding for all levels in fayence. There are 10 golf courses within 45 minutes of various levels and prices to suit all golfers.
